Senior Engineer – Leadership Pathway

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for a leadership role in a business where you can see projects through from design to delivery – without the Sydney grind?

Clark’s Mining Services is a 35-year-old, family-owned engineering and manufacturing company based in Unanderra. We design and manufacture specialised equipment for the underground coal mining and civil engineering sectors, with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and problem solving.

We are creating a new Senior Engineer role to support our growth and succession plan. This role will work directly under the Managing Director and is a key opportunity for the right candidate to step into a leadership pathway – with room to grow into higher management in the future.

The role

  • Design and develop products – both additions to our sales line and bespoke customer projects.

  • Lead and coordinate projects from concept to completion, working closely with tradespeople, office staff, and clients.

  • Supervise and mentor engineers and trades staff on the workshop floor.

  • Work with sales staff to ensure products meet client needs and are suitable for market.

  • Apply your knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and fluid dynamics to innovative projects.

 

 

 

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing.

  • Experience with CAD particularly Solidworks is essential

  • Ambitious and innovative – wants to take ownership of projects and drive them forward.

  • Practical and people-focused – comfortable working with tradespeople, office staff, and customers.

  • Task-focused and organised – brings strong time management and can meet deadlines.

  • Personable – not just a technical thinker, but someone who brings energy and personality to the role.

  • Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics is highly desirable.

  • Sales ability and customer-facing confidence will be highly regarded.
